The Fairy and the Mermaid

So, yeah... it's been a long time since we updated. In our case, no news has largely been good news! Since our last post, Jennifer has moved her entire classroom to another, brand-new school building and returned to work, we've sold our house and moved into another one, and Mike started a new supervisory position at work. Needless to say, we have been super busy and the girls have kept us even more so.

Cora and Hazel are both still healthy girls, in spite of beginning daycare when Mama went back to work in August. They have been predominantly sick since then but have overcome each illness great. We did have to buy a nebulizer to help their breathing out with their last virus but they thought it was kind of neat anyway and often looked like they wanted to smoke it like a pipe. They are making new friends at daycare and the teachers there, like Mrs. Betty, Mrs. Kristine and Ms. Beverly, love Hazel and Cora.

We are staying busier than ever now with the girls beginning to crawl. Hazel can crawl forward and backward, and Cora seems stuck in reverse at the moment. We used to have approximately one hour free in our days before they started crawling around, so now Papa and Mama spend that hour corralling the girls. You can bet when we 'fall back' and get an extra hour this weekend, it will be spent sleeping (or trying to).

Both girls sleep much more at night these days, sometimes waking up once a piece. Cora will sleep most of the night in her crib however Hazel refuses to even be laid in hers. We have to figure out what to do since we can't have her sleeping in our bed forever. And believe it or not, they are outgrowing the swings quickly, so that option will be out. The odd part is that Hazel will sleep in the crib at daycare, but not at home. It is a mystery we've yet been able to solve.

We've updated the gallery (accessed by clicking on slideshow image) with some more current pictures, including the girls first Halloween. We'll try to stay more up to date than when we last posted but, that said, know that it will not be a daily post, or even every other day due to the aforementioned lack of time. We'll try to get an update up at least once a week though, so stay tuned.
