Hazel had a good day today. She slept for most of it cuddled under her froggy (blanket used to comfort infants, like a beanie blanket). When we held her tonight, she laughed and giggled almost the entire time. However, Hazel has been a naughty girl tonight. She does not like her tubes at all. She pulled out her feeding tube then pitched a fit when it had to be replaced. She is up to 8cc of milk every three hours. Her feedings will continue to increase as long as she does not have any aspirates (undigested milk in her belly). Both girls have not had any bradys (decrease in heart rate, like sleep apnea) and they have taken big poops. The poop is always worth mentioning since it seems to be a BIG deal.
Cora was very alert today, looking around and following your voice. She is still on room air. Her lungs are getting stronger everyday. You can really hear her cry and make noises now. She lets her opinion be known. She is up to 5 cc of milk every three hours. Their night nurse expects both girls to behave for the rest of the night.
Glad to hear that they are taking in an increasing amount of breast milk. That will fatten them up better than any thing. Hazel sounds like grandmimmie with the tubes.I'm proud of their progress.
