Not much has changed with the girls' condition lately. Even the nurses and doctors state that basically this is a period of waiting and that time will be spent just watching them put on weight. Hazel is now up to 12 cc's of breast milk and Cora has graduated to 9 cc's. They are increasing all the time. Good thing the grandparents bought us a freezer chest to keep all the milk supply in.
Yesterday and last night, both girls have been rebelling somewhat by trying to yank their feeding tubes out. Well, not trying to. They both did pull out their feeding tubes. Hazel is in the lead in the contest with three successes, Cora just one time. Hazel also gets bonus points for pulling out her nasal tubes.
Both girls brady'd (bradycardia) last night. That is apt to happen sometimes, at their age, when they are deep in sleep. The good news is that both pulled out of it themselves without any nurse intervention. The diuretic appears to be helping the fluid in Hazel's lungs and Cora is scheduled for another cranial ultrasound today to check on the status of her brain, blood clots. Keep her in your thoughts today.
