Cora had a restful day. No exams, tests, or blood work were performed. She spent the day snuggled and warm in her isolette. We did not hold her much. She needed the rest. She tried to bottle feed two times, eating almost half her feeding. The temperature on her isolette is at 27 degrees and her weight is 4 lbs. 4 oz. If everything goes well, she should get a crib in the next week or so.
Hazel had a follow up eye exam with another doctor. If she needs treatment, he is the doctor that will perform the surgery. It is his opinion she has Stage 2, Zone 2, Plus in both eyes. This is much better news. Stage 1 or Stage 2 can heal itself. He recommends we continue to monitor her progress. The eye growth is complete at 42 weeks gestation. The girls are at 36 1/2 weeks. Once a week for the next five weeks, both girls will receive an eye exam. Right now we are just waiting. Hazel weighs 3 lbs 14 oz. She is quickly catching up with Cora.
