Hazel was exhausted from her day yesterday. She spent the night and the day recovering. For this reason, we held her once. She was given the afternoon, evening, and night to rest. We will nuzzle or have kangaroo care time tomorrow if she is up to it. Her weight stayed the same at 3 lbs. 7 oz. She is just one ounce away from being able to wear clothes.
Cora was also exhausted today. She is still having tummy issues. The straight milk is making a big difference with her digestion. The doctors and nurses are keeping a close eye on her. As long as her belly remains soft, she is having good bowel sounds (the nurses listen to her belly every couple of hours), and she stays regular, there is no reason to be overly alarmed. She is not showing any additional signs of being sick. We will have to wait this out. Some preemies get large bloated bellies for no reason. We are hoping that is the case here. Cora did not gain weight today. In fact, she lost. Her final weight is 3 lbs. 13 oz. On the plus side, she looks adorable in her new clothes. Today she wore three different outfits. She likes to make them as dirty as possible on a regular basis.
